Corner Cube

Corner Cube Prisms, typically consist of three mirrors or reflective prism faces which return an incident light beam in the opposite direction, it is widely used In surveying, retroreflector prisms are commonly used as targets for long-range electronic distance measurement using a total station. CPG optics specially manufacturing lots kinds of corner cube prisms.

Our chief prism engineer developed the unique fabricating method 20 years ago, and now nearly all the manufactures in China following it to get more efficiency, higher accuracy etc. We did some optimizations already, so mass production quality control and competitive cost reduce has helped us serviced more worldwide companies, especially those who care about more of fast delivery and cost control.

Schott is our contract supplier of the materials, and we also cooperated the the Chinese local optical glass manufactures for equivallent choices.

RA Prisms

CPG optics provide high precision Right Angle Prisms, usually worked for laser and medical application, the right angle prisms are typically used to bend image paths or for redirecting light at 90°.

Usually, Schott N-BK7 or Chinese equivalent materials are used in the range of visible and near IR light. Considered the UV light taking off, we also provide the corresponding materials such CaF2, MgF2, Fused Silica etc. and CPG also developed the IR right prism as well, they are now widely used in night vision, IR detection etc.

Usually we deposit the AR and HR coating on the hypotenuse surface, and customized shaped products will be available up request. We can also doing some cross –border shaped products, like we put a sphere surface in one the right angle surfaces. Please check more info the this kind of product in our labs’ page.

The main application of it is used as a retroreflector provided that the plane of incident beam includes the vertex.

Penta Prisms

CPG provide high accuracy Pentaprisms for over 10 years. For both traditional application and filter like prism, CPG should be your first choice.

In traditional application, a pentaprism is a five-sided reflecting prism, aim to deviate a beam by a constant 90°, even if the entry beam is not at 90° AOI to the prism.

For traditional application, the Pentapirsm will neither invert nor reverse the image. These prisms control the beam through the same angle and handedness as an ordinary right-angle prism or mirror would. The monolithic design also makes the prism inherently more stable than a system consisting of two or more mirrors.

Roof pentaprism is another variant of this kind of prism, it used widely in photographic application; it has two sloping sides on one of the reflecting surfaces.

The standard Penta Prism reflecting surfaces are coated with aluminum or enhanced aluminum(see Coating chapter). Sometimes, the coated surfaces are with black painting.

Another variant of the pentaprism is to add a wedge prism on one of its surfaces, then pentaprism will be used as a beamsplitter, CPG also provide this kind of part to a lot of customers or end users. Dove Prisms

Invented by H.W. Dove, Dove Prisms are also known Reversion prisms.

CPG followed the base rule of the design to produce this kind of products, when the prism is rotated about its length axis, the image viewed through the prism rotates at twice the prism rotation rate. This is an unusual making them useful in beam rotators, which have applications in fields such as interferometry, astronomy, and pattern recognition.

Usually Dove prisms are shaped from a truncated right-angle prism. A beam of light entering one of the sloped faces of the prism undergoes total internal reflection from the inside of the longest (bottom) face and emerges from the opposite sloped face. Images passing through the prism are flipped, and because only one reflection takes place, the image is inverted but not laterally transposed.

Considered the use, Dove Prisms are usually coated with anti-reflection layer and aluminum layer to provide more efficiency transmission. But sometimes dove prism will use as U-turn like pieces, for this application, we can get high accuracy better than with two pieces of reflecting mirrors.

Micro Prisms

CPG developed the micro prisms production line from year 2004, and now we served medical devises industry, telecomm industry, fiber optics industry etc.

Now we provide three types of micro optics: Micro Corner Cube, Micro Right Prism and Micro penta prism. As stated, these prisms are widely used in different kind of industries.
